报告题目:From Chern classes to virtual cycles, and beyond
摘要:The notion of Chern class is one of the fundamental concept in geometry. Many modern development in mathematics grew out of the study of Chern classes. In this talk, I will show you how the tool for an algebraic construction of Chern classes, especially localized Chern classes, has led to the construction of virtual cycles, a notion central to many new branches in algebraic geometry, to branches inspired by Mirror Symmetry conjecture. In the end, I will touch on some of the recent developments in this direction.
